President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s East Asia tour last week yielded investment pledges and trade deals worth at least US$13 billion (Jakarta Post, July 29, 2022). During a meeting with South Korean CEOs, the president explained that Indonesia had carried out regulatory and bureaucratic reforms to open up investment opportunities in strategic areas.
The call for South Korean CEOs is part of the “three-pronged” strategy to boost the Indonesian economy that was announced by the President in August 2021. Three key aspects are green economy and digital and online strategies. downstream (the JobAugust 26, 2021).
The effort to accelerate these strategies has been made in many key areas. Among them, the digital transformation of companies. The government has set a target to ensure that the 60 million micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are digitized and participate in e-commerce platforms. Currently, only 20% participate in the digital market.
