Arizona Daily Star Sportsmen’s Fund Send a Kid to Camp | Local News

Debbie Kornmiller Special for the Arizona Daily Star

The Arizona Daily Star Sportsmen’s Fund raises funds so children from low-income households and military families can attend summer camp at little or no cost to their families.

Since 1947, the Athlete Fund has helped pay 43,081 children to attend camp. We are one of Arizona’s oldest and most successful 501(c)(3) charities, earning 97 cents on every dollar spent sending children to camp.

We send local children to overnight or virtual YMCA camps, week-long Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, and virtual and overnight Tatiyee camp, for school-aged children and older teens with special needs .

This is our 75th year of fundraising to help local boys and girls do more and be more. Our goal is to raise $225,000 to send up to 700 local boys and girls to summer camp. So far, we have received 788 donations totaling $118,740, just over 52% of our goal.

Your contribution qualifies for the Arizona tax credit of up to $800 for donations to qualifying charities. Our code is 20450.
