Digital Signage Campaign In Texas Seeks To Bring Missing Children Home | Texas

Coinciding with National Missing Children’s Day, the campaign in each city will feature a different missing child case on Clear Channel Outdoor’s digital out-of-home (DOOH) screens. The child’s photo is included in every post and in some cases the photo of the child’s age progression is displayed if the child has been missing for an extended period of time. Each child’s image will be shown on multiple digital billboards in each city 1,250 times a day on each screen. The campaign will generate millions of impressions per day during the month-long campaign.

In perspective, the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Missing Persons Information Center has received 49 110 missing person reports in 2020, including 37,023 juveniles. CCOA is offering this month-long public service campaign for free in partnership with the Texas Center for the Missing, Houston Orange alert provider.

“The aim of this campaign is not only to highlight these four cases, but also to draw attention to the 37,023 missing children in Texas,” mentionned Beth alberts, CEO of the Texas Center for the Missing.

In recent years, adolescents San Antonio and Houston featured in previous digital signage campaigns with CCOA and its partners, were found and sent home to their families. In 2019, a teenager from San Antonio, Mariah garcia, was featured in this program and was found and brought home in October of the same year. A similar result occurred in Houston with the safe return of Evanegelys Colon, 16, who disappeared in 2019. Mme. Angelica Colon Padua, Evanegely’s mother, credited digital billboards and the media coverage that followed for bringing her daughter home.

The cases of missing children in 2021 featured in this program include:

Houston: Thalia Macias, has been missing since December 2019 and was 15 when she disappeared. She may have been drawn away from Mayde Creek High School in Katy, TX. She is a Hispanic woman, now 17 years old with brown hair and eyes, 5ft 1in tall and weighing 70 lbs.

San Antonio: Alani McCaslin has been missing since May 15, 2015. She has been in the Perrin Beitel area many times and was last seen on the 9000 block of Cordes Junction. Clear Channel Outdoor will take turns showing Alani’s photo on its digital billboards throughout the San Antonio region thousands of times during the campaign, creating millions of impressions in the market. Alani mccaslin is a 14 year old female weighing 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a health problem and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans.

El Paso: Steven Campbell was allegedly abducted by his mother, Karla campbell in 2011 at the age of three. An arrest warrant for kidnapping has been issued for Karla campbell at August 9, 2012. They may have traveled to Mexico. This case has been featured in previous campaigns and is featured again in the hope of generating more leads..

Dallas area: Maria Elizalde was absent from the Dallas region since 2015. It may still be in the Dallas, Cedar hill or Balch springs area. She is biracial, Hispanic and Native American, 5’0, weighing 140 pounds. This case was presented in this program in 2018.

Programs like these remind all parents and guardians of the need for high-quality photographs of their children to be used in emergencies, and the need for everyone to pay close attention to posters and photographs of missing children.
