FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines has raised nearly $ 1.5 million to support the efforts of the U.S. Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to fight the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic around the world, especially in Brazil, India and other countries in need of help to fight the devastating virus. The airline and over 11,000 of its AAdvantage® members raised the full amount in less than a month.

AAdvantage members were asked to donate at least $ 25, where they would earn 10 miles for every dollar donated, but valued American customers donated more than the minimum required with an average donation of $ 135. – more than five times the minimum donation amount.
