Sandra Carol Bunch McKay – Mississippi’s Best Community Newspaper

December 2, 1941 – July 17, 2021

NATCHEZ – A memorial service for Sandra “Sandy” Carol Bunch McKay, 79, of Natchez, who passed away on Saturday July 17, 2021, at the Adams County Nursing Center in Natchez, will be held on Wednesday July 21, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. at Chapelle de Laird Funeral Home with Reverend Vicki Landrum as officiant.

Interment will take place in Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitations will be at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, followed by a memorial service at 4:30 p.m.

Sandy was born December 2, 1941 in Tampa, Florida, the daughter of Lewis Henry and Ruby Lee Thomasson Bunch.

She graduated from Brandon High School in 1959. She attended the University of Tampa. She has worked as an insurance agent for over 40 years and has won numerous awards for her expertise in the industry. She never met a stranger and had a lot of charisma that attracted people to her. His laughter and charming personality made it so fun to be in his company. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Natchez and extended her love to all she knew.

Mrs. McKay was predeceased by her parents, Lewis Henry and Ruby Bunch; and his brother Lewis, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James “Jim” McKay; his sister Virginia Sampson (Hugh); her brother Alan Bunch (Sue); his nieces Lisa Tisdel (Derek) and Julie Poe (Neal); his nephews, David Sampson and Brian Bunch (Andrea); his grand-nephews, Ty, Connor and Landon Tisdel and Collin Bunch; and his little niece Beckett Bunch. She is also survived by her many loving cousins ​​in the Brandon, Plant City and Seffner Florida areas and many friends and former co-workers in the Natchez area.

Special thanks go to Tiffany, Delia, the nurses and orderlies at the Adams County Nursing Center, and Gina and Janet of Hospice who have helped our family so much to provide Sandy with the loving care that she needed over the past few months. They are true angels on Earth and we appreciate so much everything they have done to make her feel comfortable at a very difficult time in her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of his choice in his memory.
