The Sheridan Press wins top daily newspaper award | Local News

SHERIDAN – The Sheridan Press was recognized as the best daily newspaper in the state of Wyoming at the Wyoming Press Association’s annual convention in Casper over the weekend.

The press won 36 awards in various categories as well as major accolades including second place for Advertising Excellence, second place for Typographical Excellence, an award for receiving the most individual awards as well as the Deming Cup – which rewards the best newspaper in the world. state to recognize general excellence.

“I’m so proud of the entire team at The Sheridan Press,” said editor Kristen Czaban. “From our front office, designers and marketing reps to the newsroom, production team and beyond, this recognition of excellence is directly due to the hard work they put in every day.”

It’s the first time The Sheridan Press has won the Deming Cup in at least 13 years. In 2019, the newspaper won first place in Advertising Excellence along with 19 other awards. Last year, staff increased this recognition, winning a total of 26 awards.

This year, the 36 awards won by staff spanned the gamut of categories in the daily newspaper category, which also includes the Wyoming Tribune Eagle in Cheyenne, Casper Star Tribune, Laramie Boomerang and Riverton Ranger.
