Oakland County District Attorney Karen McDonald said she is seeking to indict Crumbley as an adult. The charges she brings against him include terrorism, four counts of first degree murder and related charges of using a gun in the school shooting.

Additionally, a 2017 article in a local newspaper, shared on Twitter, showed the alleged shooter as a “boy with glasses,” taking part in an exhibit in fifth grade.

The article read: “As part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Lakeville Elementary, fifth graders are required to participate in this event – a culminating experience and an opportunity to exhibit the attributes developed during their time in the primary program. The newspaper article also contains a quote from Crumbley, whose group project focused on poverty, saying: “I see people on the streets sometimes homeless and hungry, so I think I should take action and help them. .

Additionally, there were screenshots shared on Twitter that purported to be posts shared by Crumbley’s Instagram accounts. One of those screenshots showed the suspect allegedly kept a countdown on his Instagram account. “See you tomorrow, Oxford” as well as “Now I have become Death, the destroyer of worlds,” he wrote in his social media biography. Other screenshots showed the teenager’s Instagram page containing images of evil characters from horror movie franchises, like Jigsaw from “Saw” and Michael Myers from “Halloween.”

Some have even claimed that Crumbley’s father has a YouTube channel named James Crumbley which sometimes shows the alleged 5-year-old shooter.

Several people reacted to the screenshots when a user tweeted, “This is tragic. Children should not have guns. But how can schools be held responsible for a mad child? Are they supposed to monitor external social media? Has ANYBODY mentioned this to the administration? How would they know? Another said: ‘His dad’s youtube. 5 year content with Ethan. https://youtube.com/channel/UC3WKNCfSdVyyoNUIH3uZM0Q Heartbroken to see this kid turn into a mass killer. “Great job shooting 30-45 minutes from my house it’s crazy how people think it’s fair to shoot school. Meanwhile, The Detroit News reported that law enforcement officials have flocked to the area where the suspect was living with his family. Crumbley was said to be staying in a 1,200 square foot house less than half a mile east of Washington Street, which was checked by cops. However, no charges have yet been filed.
